Touhou Puppet Play 1.8 Enhanced v1.02 released
Well… Currently I’m in real-life Surabaya City… A few days ago I found improved patch of DPSS by DoesntKnowHowToPlay… later, I decided to make a small patch to kill my time in hotel…
In addition, I also made Renko patch… read the patching.txt for instruction…
Please do not upload rom-ready version…
I DO NOT own any character or song in any way, every music, characters design goes to their respective authors and games.
Hack of : Pokemon Fire Red (U) v1.0
Hack Name : Touhou Puppet Play 1.8 Enhanced
Current Ver : v1.02
Best Emulator: Visual Boy Advance 1.7.2
Make sure you set this option before opening rom in Visual Boy Advance:
– Real Time Clock must be on (Option -> Emulator -> Real Time Clock)
– Save Type Flash 128kb (Option -> Emulator -> Save Type -> Flash 128kb)
If you don’t set save type to 128kb, it will be ended with message “1M-circuit board not installed” and you can’t save game.
If you want to use link feature. VisualBoyAdvance Link 1.7.3 is the best.
You can still use older version save data.
– Improved DPSS patch:
o Weathers work correctly, exception for Sandstorm won’t raise Sp.Def of Beast-type Boneka while activated
o Stat-modifying abilities such as Blaze, Thick Fat work correctly
o Stat-raising items such as Swimsuit, Blazer, Burial Outfit, etc. work correctly
o Hidden Power and Weather Ball work correctly
Thanks to DoesntKnowHowToPlay for the patch
– Fixed Zombie-F spawning while CRIn evolved into Rin
– Fixed Boneka Mansion in Cannabar wild Boneka data
– Fixed minor sprite error
– Edited ending credits (the picture still unedited though)
– Editer types color (to make them same as Japanese coloring)
– Added Renko patch
Patch v1.01 to v1.02
v1.00 to v1.01
YES, RENKO PATCH.
Time for me to start over again. I’m so glad that NPC in Boneka Village helps me with that.
May 12, 2012 at 03:32
Thanks for putting in more time for this project. :3
May 12, 2012 at 14:04
Now I can get to catch CSatori & CKoishi in Boneka Mansion without having to breed them.
But still I can’t find CVIVIT though.
May 12, 2012 at 15:27
Can we update from v1.01? Because I’ve tried that and the v1.02 doesn’t have my save after patching D:
May 13, 2012 at 03:14
Make sure your save file and game have the same name.
May 13, 2012 at 03:54
Thanks for the update, having a lot of fun with this.
Question: In the underground shop in Goldenrod City, one of the shops sells all TMs from 26-50, but the one next to it only sells the same 5 TMs that are sold upstairs. Is this intentional, or is that shop supposed to sell 1-25?
May 13, 2012 at 14:58
I will check that later…
May 14, 2012 at 18:20
What music did you use for the trainer battles?
I’m really curious because they sound awesome.
Great games too!
May 14, 2012 at 18:40
Don’t regular trainer battles just use “Faith is for the Transient People” and “Love-Colored Master Spark”?
May 15, 2012 at 05:52
Yeah, how about the ones who remixed them?
May 15, 2012 at 21:46
dBu did that remix of Love-Colored Master Spark…
Dunno about the other.
June 2, 2012 at 01:28
Is it normal that when using P.G.E, instead of showing the names of the Bonekas, you get a string of random numbers and letters?
For example, CSa\hFFFFE2D5e instead of CSanae
May 15, 2012 at 05:37
Had that same problem. Check you system locale, and make sure it’s set to English. That will solve the problem.
May 15, 2012 at 07:05
Mine is showing CSanae normally…
May 15, 2012 at 07:34
Ohh thanks for the help. My system locale was set to japanese.
May 15, 2012 at 21:12
Yay a new upgrade, and oh I’m on Mount Silver at the moment but, right now I’m going to catch more Boneka to knock the trainers off their overpowered pedestals.
Also, CKoishi seems to be VERY rare to find in the Boneka Mansion, even though I’m down in the basement looking for one. x.x
May 17, 2012 at 11:09
If memory serves, CKoishi and CSatori were pretty rare even in the Japanese versions.
May 17, 2012 at 15:14
I Suggest you just breed your CKoishi since it’s pretty rare and CSatori can actually be bougth where you buy magikarps in the original fire red =p
May 17, 2012 at 19:05
Any chances characters from the fangame Marine Benefit could make it into some future patch? They’re all so neat, and water types never hurt~
May 18, 2012 at 12:48
Umm… Miss Aichiya Sanae?
I’m having problems with my current ROM hack…
I can’t understand anything in Pokemon synthesis because I cannot read Japanese…
is there a tool similar to Pokemon synthesis in English?
sorry if i’m bothering you too much.. >3<
and I was wondering, how do I rename Abilities? *U*
May 18, 2012 at 14:04
Pokemon Synthesis is only for Japanese Pokemon rom…
I guess this tool will help to rename ability names…
May 18, 2012 at 14:56
so many tools now. .-.
and what can I use that is almost similar to Pokemon synthesis for English Pokemon ROM?
May 18, 2012 at 15:33
oh, wait… baka me *bonk*
I see that Pokemon editor is almost the same with Pokemon Synthesis…
ah, Thank you Aichiya Sanae-chan! >w<
May 18, 2012 at 15:35
how big are sprites used for your Boneka?
since the game I am making are also people and not creatures…
because I am having problems with the size of the sprites.
Thank you so much for all this help your giving me >w<
I am really new to rom hacking…
May 18, 2012 at 18:13
they must be 64x64px with 16-color indexed (including background)
background color must be first color…
May 19, 2012 at 10:28
Still can’t update my file ;3; tried everything in the book. OTL
May 19, 2012 at 09:17
I want to ask something regarding Hidden Power… Is the Hidden Power in this game the same as the one in the Pokemon games? The one here uses Bonemerang’s animation if I remember correctly…
Thanks in advance!
May 19, 2012 at 10:23
yep, same hidden power as in pokemon games… and it’s using bonemerang’s animation…
that’s same as in Japanese enhanced game…
May 19, 2012 at 10:29
Yay! No more lack-of-move or type coverage issues! Thanks for the reply!
May 19, 2012 at 11:44
Hm also… How do you get to Johto? x_x I can’t find the way anywhere…
May 19, 2012 at 14:10
While you’re in the main entrance on the path to Victory Road, go to the left path. Be sure to beat the E4 first before going there.
May 19, 2012 at 14:25
Well I beat E4 twice now… And I can’t find that left path x.x it’s just Viridian, the route, and the door to the Victory Road, nothing else…
May 19, 2012 at 21:35
Nevermind I’m stupid~ Found it XD
May 19, 2012 at 21:45
umm Miss Aichiya Sanae…what’s 16-indexed?
oh I am so nooby at this…
I’m sorry >w<
May 19, 2012 at 21:24
What’s the highest level you can find Murasa at?
May 20, 2012 at 10:47
Forget it but, where can I find Ckoishi? The wiki said Boneka Mansion B1F but, I haven’t found one yet
May 20, 2012 at 11:13
You can find Koishi in Whirl Islands in Johto. I’ve captured Koishi, AKoishi and SKoishi there and then bred CKoishi.
Does anyone know where I can find more Rainbow Stones or where is CVIVIT?
May 20, 2012 at 21:03
I think you have to breed for CVIVIT (I think)…VIVIT is in Mt. Silver and A-VIVIT is the event on Tin Tower.
May 20, 2012 at 23:53
The thing is I tried various combinations like: VIVIT-VIVIT, A-VIVIT-A-VIVIT, VIVIT-A-VIVIT, both forms-genderless boneka (Tensoku, Ayakashi, Kedama, Ruukoto, Mimi-chan, etc) but still no luck. I assume CVIVIT is a rare encounter somewhere in Johto, but I don’t know the exact location.
May 21, 2012 at 02:10
What’s with the team of level 1’s at Route 16?
Also, which Boneka can learn Cut?
May 21, 2012 at 15:47
The trainers at route 16 are used for EV training.
Uh I’m pretty sure I used Momiji for cut =p
May 21, 2012 at 18:14
Well crap, I still don’t get the procedure for EV training.
Huh, is Momiji better than Nazrin?
May 21, 2012 at 19:25
Where can I get CEiki?
May 21, 2012 at 20:00
Safari Zone. She’s quite rare though.
May 21, 2012 at 20:15
Anyway, so far I got 385 boneka seen….except for C-VIVIT….which I have been searching her every part in Johto ever since March…. still no luck. -.-
May 21, 2012 at 20:20
Ah, okay… I found the problem… CVIVIT doesn’t exist in the wild, either eng or jap games… after searching through one-by-one map data…
maybe, I should add her in Altering Cave in the next update…
May 22, 2012 at 09:38
That’s good to know. Waiting warmly for next update~
By the way, I found some typos and mistakes in IDOLLDX profiles, so you might be interested in fixing those as well:
CElis – “She he can turn into a bat” -> “he” should be deleted.
All Chen – “nekotama” -> should be “nekomata”.
All Elly – “schyte boneka” -> should be “scythe”.
DIchirin – “…but she’s thinks quickly…” -> “‘s” should be deleted.
Kongala -> should be “Konngara”.
Luna – “…along with Star Spphire…” -> missing “a”.
CMerlin – “one of Prismriver sister” -> should be “sisters”.
AMokou – “nowdays” -> “nowadays” would be correct.
HMystia “her singing can insanity though” -> “can invoke insanity”?
AMystia “teams up with Prismriver sisters” -> now that Symposium of Post-Mysticism is out, shouldn’t it be Kyouko?
ARan – “…her own nekotama shikigami…” -> see Chen.
DReisen – “Don t look at them!” -> missing apostrophe.
All Rin – “nekotama boneka” -> should be nekomata or kasha.
Shou – “A littleTiger…” -> missing space.
CTenma – “Tenma is the boss of Tengus.” -> Shouldn’t it be “Tengu”?
Youki – “swordman boneka” -> should be “swordsman”.
Also, if it’s possible to add more characters, it’d be neat to have PC-98 midbosses (Noroiko, Hikariko, Mirrors, Rinyousei, etc.) in the game too (assuming there’s sprites of them in existence).
Another problem I’ve seen a lot, when I talk to some people, there’s gibberish like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/2rrot52.png
And I never found a single item with Itemfinder in Johto. Is that alright?
One last thing, I’ve been wondering who are #397-400? I know that #396 is SG-Sanae and #401 and #402 are STenma and TSendai.
Thank you for your hard work.
May 24, 2012 at 02:25
The comments above say that you have to breed for C-VIVIT?
May 21, 2012 at 20:43
I’m starting to think that is wrong
May 21, 2012 at 20:47
You can’t breed for C-VIVIT since she doesn’t have any egg group, I have no idea how to get her though, I’m wondering about that aswell.
As for all the rare chibis like Eiki etc, I suggest you just wait till johto and catch the evolved forms and just breed, AEiki, DEiki and Eiki are all very common at Mt Silver
May 21, 2012 at 21:50
If Yall wana place to dicuss Puppet play person to person i have a xat
May 22, 2012 at 09:13
I played the whole game to get to Dragon Den and get Toyosatomimi @.@ And… A-any reasons why her whole movepool is physical and/or with lower accuracy? She’s a special attacker it seems… And she gets Recollection… That was a surprise. Maybe she gets Extrasensory through breeding? I’d love some dex entries on the Ten Desires bonéka so we could check stuff like movepool, tms and stats…
May 22, 2012 at 20:08
Anyone know where I can find a full pokedex for this game so I know when Touhous evolve and how?
May 23, 2012 at 09:03
There you go
May 23, 2012 at 13:21
I use Touhoudex 2: http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhoudex_2/Touhoudex_2 (It’s not 100% complete, though)
May 23, 2012 at 14:25
This one better:
May 23, 2012 at 20:01
Loving every bit of this game~ Thank you *-*
May 23, 2012 at 21:54
Um, I’m trying to catch Seiga and I seem to can’t get to South America Island is there a way to get to it?
May 24, 2012 at 03:54
You can sneak in a truck on right pier in Vermillion City to get there. But be sure to pick one boneka that can Surf and bunch of orbs. You can catch CSeiga while surfing (I got 3, just in case) and Satsuki in a small island cave. AFAIK you can get there only once, so be sure to catch them all.
May 24, 2012 at 04:29
I’m not too sure that you can enter only once.
I beat the Elite Four a second time, then I went to fight Red. After that, I tried to go back to South America Land and it worked.
I don’t know if it’s the Elite Four or Red, but you are able to return there.
May 24, 2012 at 05:46
Just checked my save state after beating Red. Yes, it seems that you can go to Faraway Land once again and there will be another Satsuki waiting for you in the island’s cave. Seemingly, it’s possible to go back there for a third+ time after beating Red once again, but I’m not sure.
May 24, 2012 at 07:00
Do the shards have to be used on the Chibi form for it to work?
May 24, 2012 at 05:52
No they can be used on any form although there were a few that you couldn’t evolve if they weren’t in there chibi form, not sure if it was fixed in this patch but it was like 4-5 of them that you had to evolve from the chibi form =p
May 24, 2012 at 16:54
Hey guys, what are you general leveling strategies?
May 26, 2012 at 20:44
Anyone know where I can get Kyouko? I know she’s in the game because one of the trainers in Mt. Silver has her…
May 28, 2012 at 22:34
You can find her in the final room with all the trainers and red at Mt. Silver
May 29, 2012 at 00:30
Hello again, Miss Aichiya Sanae…
I’m having big problems with my hack so far…
like, the back sprite is entirely wrong and different from the front sprite…
did I do something wrong in UnLZ.gba?
http://oi46.tinypic.com/ja7vxd.jpg < Perfectly fine front sprite
http://oi45.tinypic.com/154zfvm.jpg , Horrible looking back sprite…
please I need help urgently…
May 29, 2012 at 23:19
Is there any way to change the name of your trainer, like through the save file or something like that?
I want to change the trainers name from Maribel to Renko
June 2, 2012 at 22:29
Is it possible for two players to connect with 1,8.0 VBALink?
June 10, 2012 at 12:44
Where can I find the rainbow shards?
June 12, 2012 at 09:26
They’re in Johto. You can find one in the Tohjo Falls (near New Bark Town).
June 12, 2012 at 12:18
How do I get Sendai? I had thought it was from trading Chibi Hakurei (according to the en.touhouwiki.net) but then when I did, nothing happened.
June 15, 2012 at 13:32
Sendai (well, CSendai) is found in Onbashira Tower in Violet City.
This game has a few different evolutions than what the wiki provides.
June 15, 2012 at 23:22
I’m guessing its really REALLY rare? Cuz the only boneka of interest i’ve run into so far is Tenma…
June 17, 2012 at 17:01
Huh. I think it was Tin Tower, actually, not Onbashira Tower. It was a tower in Johto, I’m sure.
June 18, 2012 at 13:22
Yeah CSendai is found at the Tin Tower in Ecruteak city while at Onbashira tower you can find CTenma.
June 18, 2012 at 18:15
Thanks, I’ve finally found her… Was troublesome, lol
June 19, 2012 at 13:10
Would anyone be kind enough to give me a list of all out-of-dex bonekas?
The touhoudex Im relying to is very inaccurate and the newly added/omitted out-of-dex bonekas makes competing the dex extra difficult. Thanks in advance!
June 20, 2012 at 18:27
I don’t think theres a full list at the moment.
The current most reliable one would be http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Touhoudex_2
Although theres a few inaccurate info since this version is a modification of the original touhou 1.8 puppet play.
But its 90% accurate so far.
June 21, 2012 at 09:07
Aw, thats the touhoudex I am using, but thanks anyway! I am currently at 374 seen and 360 owned, but it seems I cant see or find any more bonekas. Also, it seems the location for finding some bonekas have changed as well. Phew.
June 21, 2012 at 11:51
I am very upset; I really want to play this version but no matter what I do, when I try to patch my English 1.8 file, I keep getting the error message “IPS File appears to be invalid. Patching aborted, original file restored.” Can someone please, please tell me what I am doing wrong? T_T
June 22, 2012 at 23:22
I tried again patching a Pokemon FireRed Rom but still got the same error, and then tried putting them all in the same folder – still got the same error. I have looked up this error before and there is no answer anywhere to how to solve it. Please, I would really appreciate help because this looks beautiful – Aichiya, I love your work and am desperate to play this game. T____T
June 23, 2012 at 01:12
Did you accidentally choose the ROM as the IPS file and the .ips as the actual game? That may be why the patcher sees an invalid IPS file.
June 23, 2012 at 21:24
I have question. Can a regular Reisen still evolve into Advent Reisen or does she need Chibi Reisen for the evolution to still be available? Does apply to all bonekas?
June 24, 2012 at 10:36
If nothing about the evolutions has changed this patch then yes, all ADs have to evolve from a chibi state.
All the other bonékas can evolve from any state except a few =p
June 24, 2012 at 18:08
Ah, I see. So, could a normal Yuugi evolve into a AYuugi?
June 25, 2012 at 00:40
I have a question, where did you download the cries?
Sorry if this is off topic. So here is some thing on topic,
How do the evolutions work, I’m more used to WL, AW, and MMW’s Evolutions
August 2, 2012 at 04:16
Evolutions work through levels, as usual, but there are “forms” in this game.
For example, you can obtain Sanae from evolving a CSanae by leveling up. However, using Hearts, you can transform them into a different form. A Power Heart will evolve a Sanae into a ASanae (Attack Sanae), while a Skill Heart will turn Sanae into TSanae (Technical Sanae).
This game also feature “slide evolution”, which allows you to change between forms anytime you want by using the appropriate heart. So you can have a ASanae transform into TSanae anytime by using a Skill Heart and transform back using a Power Heart,
August 2, 2012 at 08:15
How come the file is set to private…?
[Sorry for being the dumb person here… :x]
August 17, 2012 at 15:42
Probably because there’s a new version out (1.10) so this one is now outdated.
August 17, 2012 at 20:40
I need a fucking permission to down this? Are you my mother?
May 12, 2017 at 22:14
