Best Emulator: Visual Boy Advance 1.7.2
Make sure you set this option before opening rom in Visual Boy Advance:
– Real Time Clock must be on (Option -> Emulator -> Real Time Clock)
– Save Type Flash 128kb (Option -> Emulator -> Save Type -> Flash 128kb)
64kb flash is fine, but will get notification that data is corrupted
If you want to use link feature. VisualBoyAdvance Link 1.7.3 is the best.
Features
Touhoumon: Marisa’s Magic World is designed for helping other games to find Bonéka that is hard to find in appropriate game.
– The game has no Story. Focus on “Catch and Collect.”
– You can catch any Bonéka in this game with some exception. There are 4 areas currently in this game:
Area C: Chibi Boneka area
Area N: Normal Boneka area, and some with non-prefix Boneka such as Mimi-chan, Ruukuto, Kedama, etc.
Area E: Ex Boneka area
Area S: Special form Boneka area
In the beginning of the game, only Area C that is unlocked. The other areas will be unlocked as you catch more Boneka.
– Link compatibility with either Touhoumon World Link or Touhoumon Another World. Limited to Trading. Recommended using Touhoumon World Link/Another World v1.30 or later version.
– Item prices are cut down, because you can only battle with Marisa, Reimu, or Sanae. Mary/Renko also can be battled.
– You will get A-VIVIT as starter. But, It can’t be traded to World Link or Another World game.
Bonéka Forms Quick Guide
1. Chibi Form (CXxxxx, example: CChiyuri, CKurumi)
Chibi form is the most weak form of most species. Only few Bonéka that don’t have any Chibi form.
2. Normal Form (Xxxxx, example: Chiyuri, Kurumi)
Normal form is the evolution of Chibi Form.
3. Ex Form (EXxxxx, example: EChiyuri, EKurumi)
Ex Form is evolution of Normal Form Only few Bonéka that don’t have any Ex form.
4. Advent Form (AXxxxx, example: ACirno, AMukou)
Advent Form is alternate evolution of Chibi Form. Only few Bonéka that can evolve into Advent Form. They are basically same strong as Ex Form. Advent Form will not learn signature move.
How to get Advent Form: while Chibi Form use Sun Stone.
5. Final Form (FXxxxx, example: FReimu, FMarisa)
Final Form is alternate evolution of Chibi Form. Only few Bonéka that can evolve into Final Form. They are basically same strong as Ex Form. Final Form will not learn any moves by leveling up except signature move.
How to get Advent Form: while Chibi Form use Moon Stone.
6. DarkEx Form (DEXxxxx) – Trade normal form.
7. Last Word Form (LXxxxx, example: LChiyuri, LCirno)
You may say Last Word Form is the strongest form. Only few Bonéka that have Last Word Form. Check the video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4B_BSLFZd0 if you want to know how to get Last World Bonéka. This is including DarkLastWord (DLXxxxx).
8. Special Form
a. Inu-Sakuya – use Sun Stone at CSakuya
b. Swim Suit (SSXxxxx) – use Water Stone at Ex Form
c. Gothic Mystia / Princess Wriggle – use Sun Stone at their Ex Form
d. ExAdventMukou – Evolve at Lv 80 from Advent Mukou
e. Angel VIVIT – catch only, no evolution
f. STenshi / SuppaTenkoRan – use Sun Stone at their Ex Form

Hmmm… I was waiting for that version!
Though there’s a little problem when I try to link to World Link or Another World… The link is not detected.
Here’s a screen of where I’m stuck : http://puu.sh/729d
It stays at the “Please wait.” and does not link the two versions… I currently have VBA Link 1.7.3L … and link works between Another World and World Link.
Thanks for the version anyways.
PS : If you can link those versions with MMW wtih your emulator, can you upload it and send the link? It would be nice ~~ ^w^

Make sure you have the correct setting in VBA Link 1.7.3: realtime clock ON, save type flash 128k, wireless adapter OFF (under the Link section), pause when inactive OFF (under the Emulator section). It works for me, MMW + World Link and MMW + Another World.

Aichiya, ExHina doesn’t evolve into DLHina after trading with a Last Tag.
I can’t even open the ROM in YAPE, and I can’t tell how you ordered the Boneka in-game, so I really can’t edit it myself.

I love MMW, but everytime I in-game save, close, then open the rom, I end up not being at where I last saved (for example, in front of the EV Training Area) and I end up in the Boneka Centre. Right now only saving the game as .sgm files work.
Is there any fix for this? Tq

Simple: see your .sav file for VBA 1.7.2? You just change its extention to .sa1 or .sa2 for VBA L1.7.3, knowing that the “1” is for the game that is loaded in the first VBA L1.7.3 that you open, and the “2” for the second.
For example, to trade between Another World and MMW, you use .sa1 for Another World, and .sa2 for MMW. Oh, and don’t forget to uncheck “wireless adapter”, because MMW doesn’t support it.

I agree that this game if fun all by itself.
No stupid HM gathering. No boneka in your team that wastes your slots because you need its HM. Building your ultimate boneka is easy.
Just a small note about the special forms: some are missing. Or at least, I should rather say that I found some unexpected evolutions randomly, like how we get Tensoku…

Oui c’est exactement ça qui s’est passé. J’étais furax, car du coup j’ai du en monter une deuxième (déjà fallait en CAPTURER une deuxième… pas facile de tomber sur elle), et se casser la tête à lui donner une Everstone (et tout le bordel qui va avec), car même en appuyant sur B on peut pas annuler une évolution pendant un échange.
Mais cette évolution là elle n’est marquée nulle part: le fichier Excel ne laisse rien supposer à ce propos.

Yesterday, I had Aichi who appeared in my game. Today, he disappeared. I googled it, it seems he only appears on 30th december. I have a question: why this date in particular?
Just a heads up: today being the 31st won’t prevent me from making him appear. I just need to toy around with the date on my comp to get him appearing. 😛

I seem to be having a problem trading between emulators. The game will detect the link, as I’ve followed the instructions someone else posted above, but when the characters enter the room, I get a connection error. I’ve tried several times, but it’s still happening. Any idea why this is?

Do you have the emulator set to pause automatically when it’s not the active window? That would cause the link to fail when you switch windows.

How abouts do you get MMW to link up with AW and WL? I have the settings set correctly (I think), but MMW doesn’t let you select join or lead. Merrr…I’ll probably have figured it out by the time someone replies, but if you do know, please answer anyways.

Bit of a late update on my connection problems. It will now connect to the other one, but when I enter, both games say that there is a connection error and that I should turn my game off and on (Lol, nope. This is a computer, Mr. Video Game). Anyone got any tips or something?

– Make sure both VBA windows have the “Pause when inactive window” option unchecked. (Options > Emulator > ” Pause when…”) Anything which stops VBA from running will cause the error, and that includes a random mouse click outside your VBA screens.
– Make sure you have “One computer” selected in the “Link” option in the “Options” menu. If not, change it to that. Remember, you must restart the emulator for it to take effect.
– Don’t use the speed up toggle. If one game runs too much faster than the other, it will cause a desync error. If you really want to speed up your trades, make sure both VBA windows have the same speed up key and use that. Hopefully they’ll both run at nearly the same speed so you don’t get an error.
I’m assuming you’re using VBALink 1.7.3 or 1.7.2L. If not, try them out.

Disable the wireless adapter. Go to “Link”->”Wireless Adapter” and un check it, in both instances of VBA Link.

hi there. i’m not sure if i’m supposed to post this here but i have a question about all three of your hacks on this blog? both winips and Lunar IPS patchers keep saying to me that these are not IPS files. are you sure you created IPS files or do i need some UPS patcher or somethis to fix this?

BUT.
I happen to be getting the same issue with LIPS and WinIPS. I’ve tried a couple other patching tools, but they all say the same thing. (“This is NOT an IPS file!”) Automatic IPS patching also doesn’t seem to work with the VBA emulators. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?
Any solution at this point would be much appreciated.
