Spirit Camera – The Cursed Memoir
Three days ago, Saturday April 14 2012, I recieved a new game for 3DS… Spirit Camera – The Cursed Memoir…
This game is Fatal Frame spin-off game…
Utilize gyro sensor and 3D feature in Nintendo 3DS…
What I got…
Game card, booklet, PIN, other game promotion, and the last is “Diary of Faces” (AR book)…
Next… let’s see the 3DS bios screen…
Accessing the game… the title screen…
Hit “A” button or touch the touch screen… the main menu…
Main menu divided into 3 main parts:
– Fatal Frame: Diary of Faces, this is the main story, after you finished main story, you will unlock more stuffs in this sub menu…
– Haunted Vision, take picture of your surrounding and it will generate spirit photograph…
– Cursed Pages, play mini-games… by default only 2 mini-games available… more mini-games will be unlocked if you cleared first 2 mini-games…
Okay next is the main story… I will only write the prologue to avoid spoiler…
The Diary of Faces Prologue
Once upon time, I received package from unknown sender… I opened the package…
I found Camera Obscura, a book inside the package… and a note about Camera Obscura…
The note…
Thus, I tried to take some pictures with that camera…
First try… It’s just normal result…
but… the second try… the picture seems stained…
I became curious… and tried to take a picture once more…
The result… there is a book overlapped on the main picture…
That book is exactly same as the book in the package…
Suddenly, the camera is reacting toward to that book…
I try to take a picture of the first page of that book…
Suddenly, a few letters emerged from that blank paper…
ずっと待ってた (zutto matteta)… “I’ve been waiting…”
that book turned into black and drew me inside…
I have no clue what was happened… but, when I opened my eyes…
I’m inside house… an old house… where am I…?
I have bad feeling about this…
This house is kinda creepy… I saw an old paint there…
Passing that through… continuing my walk…
Suddenly, I see a woman in white in a glimpse at the corner of corridor… she is moving away…
I continued my walk to that woman… but, no one there…
I stopped my walk in the front of door… I can hear a woman voice from behind what door…
As I wanted to open that door, someone yelled at me… “Don’t open that door”…
I’m surprised… and I search the source of that voice…
I turn my head to the right…
I see woman in white that I saw before… she runs toward me…. and things become white all of sudden…
…….
…….
I opened my eyes… recollect my sense… I’m still in my own room… and with the book on the table…
Now, I’m thinking if that house and what I saw before are just all dream…?
“Can you hear me? If you can, look this way.”
Someone is calling me… I’m checking surrounding…
I saw her again, woman in white, maybe that wasn’t just a dream after all…
She introduced herself to me…
She is Maya… she has been trapped in that old house from long time… and she lost her memories…
Maya explains that anyone who enters that house will never be escape… they’re cursed… if the “woman in black” find them, they will become vengeful spirit with their eyes and mouth riped…
A few people already become victim of woman in black…
That means I’m currently under the curse of that book… I have same boat as Maya…
After we are thinking… the Camera Obscura that I currently own… has the power to capture unusual… and that cursed diary… maybe hold the key to break the curse…
And also, we have chance to recover Maya’s memories…
Yep, that is the prologue more or less…
Maya will help a lot in the game to break the curse…
If you complete the main story… you will unlock main story (extra) and summon character using AR Book or “?” AR Card…
Main story (extra) has more difficult enemy and gives more information about Maya… plus unlock extra costume for Maya…
While you summon any character, you can battle with that character or take photos… something like this…
Now, we will talk about the Haunted Vision sub-menu…
– Spirit Photography
– Spirit Check
– Spirit Challenge
Spirit Photography allow you to take spirit photo… either using Normal Lens, 3D Lens, or Face Lens…
Normal Lens will generate random spirit… if the surrounding is too bright, it will generate nothing…
Scary girl face…
Fire spirit…
3D Lens will generate spirit based on character or ghost in this game…
A spirit screamed in my room…
Boy spirit near Cirno…
Maya… >_< at the corridor to my room…
Spirit Check… this allow you to check what spirit is currently haunting you… They’re characters of ghosts from earlier Fatal Frame games…
You need to take a photo of you or your friend face… and look to first page of Diary of Faces…
Who is currently haunting me… Misaki…
I haven’t tried Face Lens option…
Last sub-menu is Spirit Challenge…
You need take a photo of your face, your friend’s face, or anything… the taken face will become spirit and attack you…
My personal opinion…
– Game itself is really exciting, virtual-reality ghost story…
– Controlling is very easy, you only turn your body to find the spirit…
– Haunted vision is also exciting… you can make pseudo spirit photo… to trick your friend…
– Some of scenes really made me surprised…
– Extra content…
– Maya is moe… (=w=)d I dreamed Maya in my sleep once… >_>
The story is short… I completed it in 3-4 hours effective… this game is not designed for intense gamer… this game is for fun…

I got this figure by a chance… lucky… and it arrived 2 days ago…
Rare good from Reitaisai…
By the way… I still don’t know the manufacturer of this figure…

The only my problem is…. I have no more space to display….

Today… time to release her from plastic jail…

Okay… time to review bis boss Kanako…
This figure is from Griffon Enterprises… it comes with her trademark “shimenawa”
Well… It would be better if she sits cross-legged as in the game…
A tall box… because of shimenawa…

Kanako’s face… it’s very good… I’m bit surprised…
You can see maple leaves ornament there…
Outfit… maple motif in the bottom of her long skirt…
And also… there is a mirror in her chest… what is that mirror called, again?
“Shimenawa”… it’s attached in the back… and it can’t be removed…

Okay, this time I will make a quick review of Suwako figure from Giffon…
One of Kochiya family member… Kero-chan…
Package box… it’s small box… because Suwako has small-sized body after all…

Good thing that I didn’t buy normal Sakuya normal version or Sakuya battle mode version from Griffon…
This figure based on Perfect Cherry Blossom game… notably with red scarf…

Honestly this is my first S.H.Figuarts figure… and I don’t know how to review poseable figure like this…
This figure based on Futari wa Pretty Cure (first season)… ~Hikari no Shisha – Cure White~
Max Heart version of Cure White is also exist in limited release… but, I currently don’t have it…

Quick figure review of Alice Margatroid from Griffon Enterprises…
Griffon already released 2 Alice figures (ignore limited-color releases), 1/8-scaled and 1/7-scaled figures… this one is 1/8-scaled…
I prefer 1/8-scaled to 1/7-scaled somehow…
