Best Emulator: Visual Boy Advance 1.7.2
Make sure you set this option before opening rom in Visual Boy Advance:
– Real Time Clock must be on (Option -> Emulator -> Real Time Clock)
– Save Type Flash 128kb (Option -> Emulator -> Save Type -> Flash 128kb)
If you don’t set save type to 128kb, it will be ended with blank white screen.
If you want to use link feature. VisualBoyAdvance Link 1.7.3 is the best.
Story
You played as Renko Usami or Maribel Han. They moved to Hoenn region, thus they seek for answer why did Bonéka suddenly appear in their world.
1. Hoenn Region
o You start adventure with one Bonéka, either ChibiKurumi, ChibiElly, or ChibiLuize
o It seems there many Bonéka that appear in current world, then Renko and Mary are given iDollDex for collecting Bonéka data.
o You must beat Gym Leaders and collect Gym Badges, then aim to Bonéka League.
o In your adventure you will encounter Team Kalkun that want to control LastWordUtsuho and Team Kodok that want to control LastWordSuwako
o Both LastWordSuwako, LastWordUtsuho, LastWordKanako are the main part of story of Hoenn Region.
2. Gensokyo
o This is minor place where the conclusion why many Bonéka have appeared in Renko and Mary World. You can only access Hakurei Shrine, Youkai Road, and Border Island Lake.
3. Kanto and Johto Region
o You can travel to Kanto and Johto Region. They are extended region. You could collect all 8 Gym Badges from Kanto Region.
o Places in Johto region in this game are only Wakaba Town and Mt. Silver
4. Java Region
o This is just joking region for completing your iDollDex. You can access this region after you beat Bonéka League.
o The quest of this region is collecting 7 gem (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Topaz, Amethyz) and beat Grand League in this Region.
I decide to put characters from up to Touhou 12.8 and Ibaraki Kasen. Touhou 13 (if released) and later characters will not be put in this game. Because there is no more open slot.

In the Music House you can listen music which are transplanted into this game, imported from another touhoumon, from original rom Pokemon Emerald, from another game (such as Megaman, Golden Sun, etc), or other music.
Bonéka Forms Quick Guide
1. Chibi Form (CXxxxx, example: CChiyuri, CKurumi)
Chibi form is the most weak form of most species. Only few Bonéka that don’t have any Chibi form.
2. Normal Form (Xxxxx, example: Chiyuri, Kurumi)
Normal form is the evolution of Chibi Form.
3. Ex Form (EXxxxx, example: EChiyuri, EKurumi)
Ex Form is evolution of Normal Form Only few Bonéka that don’t have any Ex form.
4. Advent Form (AXxxxx, example: ACirno, AMukou)
Advent Form is alternate evolution of Chibi Form. Only few Bonéka that can evolve into Advent Form. They are basically same strong as Ex Form. Advent Form will not learn signature move.
How to get Advent Form: while Chibi Form use Sun Stone.
5. Final Form (FXxxxx, example: FReimu, FMarisa)
Final Form is alternate evolution of Chibi Form. Only few Bonéka that can evolve into Final Form. They are basically same strong as Ex Form. Final Form will not learn any moves by leveling up except signature move.
How to get Advent Form: while Chibi Form use Moon Stone.
6. DarkEx Form (DEXxxxx) – Trade normal form.
7. Last Word Form (LXxxxx, example: LChiyuri, LCirno)
You may say Last Word Form is the strongest form. Only few Bonéka that have Last Word Form. Check the video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4B_BSLFZd0 if you want to know how to get Last World Bonéka. This is including DarkLastWord (DLXxxxx).
8. Special Form
a. Inu-Sakuya – use Sun Stone at CSakuya
b. Swim Suit (SSXxxxx) – use Water Stone at Ex Form
c. Gothic Mystia / Princess Wriggle – use Sun Stone at their Ex Form
d. ExAdventMukou – Evolve at Lv 80 from Advent Mukou
e. Angel VIVIT – catch only, no evolution
f. STenshi / SuppaTenkoRan – use Sun Stone at their Ex Form
Stones can be bought at Oldman Shop at Kaina City, Hajitsuge Town, or Shidake Town.

Q: How to get Kanto Region?
A: Ask person with Renko Sprite in Touka City, you will obtain JX-Pass, then you go to the North of Muro Town, ask sailor there, and you go to Kanto.
Q: How to get Java Region?
A: You will need some tasks to do:

Q: What is Z Bonéka?
A: Z Bonéka is secret Bonéka that not recorded in iDollDex (like Miku). They are overpowered. Legit Z Bonéka in this game always shiny.

1. Extended trainers sometimes random item (include ball)
2. Corrupted Battle Pyramid. Unfixable for now. You can get guts symbol from Grand League.

Hey, in Hanada City / Cerulean City, there’s no way to leave the city and go to the route that’s south of it, or the route that’s west of it; I’ve had to resort to a walk-through-walls code to get anywhere in Kanto besides the first four towns you can get to on foot, and the Pokemon League.

How do I battle Aichi? I’ve already beaten the Grand League but when I talk to him, all he does is give me the Silph Scope and tell me to find Layla in the Hanada Cave, which I already have caught.
I also see nothing in the Lost Age Lost Woods. When I first went in it was empty, but from what I understand from the Boneka list, I’m supposed to find LChiyuri there.
Lastly, How do I find the Old Map? Is it in the Lost Age?

There is a forest in the way of Route 128. I checked all the dive spots and I cant get around the forest in any way.

Are you getting that from the Readme file? Aichi needs to fix (or update) that part. Advent Boneka can now learn pretty much everything the standard evolutions can, including the signatures. AEirin gets Apollo 13 at level 45, AMarisa gets Master Spark at level 47, etc.

You need to get to the Java Region first before you can get past Genji. Just north of Yogyakarta is Fuji with the Boneka Flute. Talk to him to get it.

There is no way to get past Hanada City from inside the city. You need to go through Yami Cave instead, which is being blocked by Genji. See my above post for details.
Every item in the game, including Last Tags, are unlocked in Yogyakarta’s shop after talking to the shopkeeper in the past. Something important to note is that the shop will not be available during the Mt. Merapi sidequest (the one with the DEBoneka and LFlan).

On top of Mt.Aurora, when i interact with the stone, I get into a battle with Shingyoku but when ever it uses Whirlwind, I exit the battle and if a try to interact with it my game freezes. Anyone know how to get around this without killing Shingyoku? as i want to catch it.

im using No$GBA and as expected it’s all foggy and can’t see anything
till this point i’m using Pokemon Emerald Map to guide me through foggy areas and it’s fine but one Route 127 Underwater…. (because u edited the map terrain)
do u mind giving me the map for that area?
i tried many ways to convert/import my save file from No$GBA to VBA/VBALink ut none succeed
and to start over… is tiresome…

Well… maybe you used compressed save config in No$GBA…
try opening NO$GBA.INI
and find line…
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
by default it will be set into compressed…
change it into…
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw
======
after editing that… try open your game using no$gba and save (internal save, not save state/snapshot)
after that close no$gba, check battery folder… if you did correctly… the .sav file size is 128kb…
if you want to play using VBA, simply import that sav file from battery folder…

I found a glitch, i think. In yogyakarta I went in the Boneka Center and after I went out of it again, it started to snow and all Non-Trainers dissappeared. I had to load an old savestate then 😦

I think you mean DarkLastWord Rumia, because there is no DarkEx Rumia as far as I know. Trade her at her Ex-Form while she is holding the item LastTag. The only difference that yours is a shiny is that it is a shiny. It will evole normally into a Shiny DarkLastWord Rumia.

Actually its not a bug! You have to go to the right of Yogyakarta and then on the river thingy you have to surf upwards, then there should be a waterfall and a volcano, but you need Firestone, Leafstone, Waterstone and a Thunderstone because there will be Boneka Statues on the Volcano wich will awake if you have the right evolution stone. On top of the Volcano there is an LFlandre, catch or beat it. Then the residents of Yogyakarta will return!

I’ve been working on a easy mode of World Link and I must admit that Java and Johto are somewhat discouraging to work on but it’s still fun to work on. I also admit I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong in Kanto. I’m trying to progress further but on the other side of the Yami cave the road is blocked by a Genbu and I seem unable to find a path to go south around Hanada.

Hello! This may not be the best place to ask, but I was wondering if it would be okay to do some cleanup in World Link, Another World, and Marisa’s Magic World, since you seem to be done with them? Things like replacing old sprites, some dialogue editing, and expanding a few areas. If you want more information, I’d be happy to give it, here or through email or anything. However, whatever changes might be made, I can say for certain you would be given full credit as the creator and everything would be properly attributed!

Aichiya, I really need help here…
For some strange reason I’ve ran into a bug that causes the animation of a stat rise/fall on either side to cover the whole entire screen during a battle and I have no clue what to do. And I’ve also had another strange problem on Marisa’s Magic World, too, where the MMW part of the logo doesn’t show up at the title screen at all (I don’t know if there are any other problems there, though…).
And the strangest part about it is that when I open it from VBA instead of straight from the file shortcut itself, both work perfectly fine but I have to start straight from the entire beginning again! 😦
I’m completely stumped by how both the problems started and how I can even begin to fix them by myself without making a fatal mistake and cause the games to crash…
PLEASE, I need assistance!

The bug… I can’t tell what’s wrong with the shortcut. However, I know what’s wrong with you having to start over. Make sure that your save and your ROM are in the same folder.

Is there any way to safely reconfigure the tools in VBA, while the game is open, to fix it without causing everything to crash? I can’t help feeling it might be a bug in the mapping, but I wouldn’t know how to fix it anyway…

You may want to backup the files first, make a duplicate of the save file and redownload the .gba file. Then import the battery save file and see if it works?

How the hell do i get further than Tokiwa city in kanto… the forest is blocked and I cant go anywhere through the portals downstairs. I also dont know where Hanada city is or how to get to it.

At the risk of sounding stupid…
I can’t patch ANY of these IPS files. Not a one. WIPS PRETENDS it’s going to let me-and even makes a new file like it’s supposed to, but it’s just a copy of the Emerald ROM I used. LIPS (Lunar IPS, possibly one of the best patchers ever) says that the IPS files aren’t, well, IPS files. It’s really annoying.
Even weirder, this is the first time I’ve had this problem, soooo… thoughts? Free pre-patched ROM for my troubles? (Okay, not really, but I can dream, can’t I?)
Maybe, prehaps, you could start making APS patches, which are supposed to be much more secure… well, if you want, or if you still make Touhoumon Games.

I had this problem as well and it’s the rom you’re using.
Google the following: “Pokemon – Emerald Version (U) [f1] (Save Type)” and get your roms from get-your-rom.com
These seem to work the best and adhere to Aichiya’s specifications.
I used the roms from there and they worked. If you use roms from other sites, it WILL make the new rom, but it will crash whatever you try to use it on.

do you think you can reupload the unedited header, for whatever reason when i go to patch it, it does nothing at all (meaning it is still the pokemon game not world link) also the size of the file is much smaller than the edited one…

It took me quite a lot of time to understand it, but the Unedited Header patch has to be applied on your World Link .gba file, not on Pokemon Emerald.
Basically=
Classic ips file => apply tp the Pokemon rom
Unedited Header ips file => apply to the Touhoumon rom

I’m having these exact same issues…
WIPs is the one that’s telling me that the world link patch is not an .ips file. But Lunar IPS is also doing the same thing. I’ve even been trying this for another game, but I’m still having issues.
Although with the other game, it’s either still Pokemon Emerald, or it just leaves the game blank.

Hello.
I started playing WL today, and well, I want to EV train my 5 first boneka in MMW. The problem is that I get an error while trading (on LW’s side) “The other trainer’s boneka can’t be traded now”. The hell is the problem with the CMarisa, the CHakurei or the ERin that I have in MMW?!? I haven’t corrupted any saves as far as I know (would be frustrating now that I finished MMW 100%).
Is it because I’ve just started playing and have absolutely no badge or something like that? Has it got anything to do with the Pokemon that occupied the slot of these Boneka (CMarisa, CHakurei, ERin) before being patched?

Small bug I found:
I’ve just met Wally, and came to see him catching his boneka. I just laughed my ass off when his lvl7 CKogasa (BTW, this CKogasa Tackle… quite disturbing when it should have Lick and Astonish) got spanked by the wild lvl5 CEllen (she confused CKogasa at the first Confusion attack and kogasa hurt itself on 2nd turn), which ended up in me having to answer the question “Use next Boneka?” I answered yes, then “Bad Egg” ability “Giga Flare” came in and Willy then used the Miko Orb (wonder what attacks bad egg was supposed to have).
I guess there should be some kind of patch to prevent kogasa from being KO’ed.

Ruukoto evolves from hoshizako (the green star) at lv 20 when defence is higher than attack. If attack is higher, it’ll evolve to mimi-chan. Hope this helps.

The best way to get more ZBoneka, is to get them from Another World thanks to Patchouli. And if you want to get the whole collection, well the best is to cheat by using save states and sending them to another ROM.

No, you can get ONE free ZBoneka from Patchouli after beating the Gensokyo League (which is roughly the end of the game). But like I said, if you toy around with save states and Boneka trades, you can get as many as you want, and I prove it with my own collection:

Been playing touhoumon for a week and a half non-stop.
After beating the Java grand league, grand master Haris told me to talk to Aichi after battling him. I went to yogyakarta to meet him there, but I think it reset since he gave me the silph scope again. I went to beat the grand league again, then tried to go to yogyakarta without using the Bonecenter. Thinking that might’ve caused it.
Does anyone else have this problem?

You should use the gPSP emulator for PSP instead. Just don’t rename any of your Bonéka or the game will hang, but it works pretty well otherwise.

found a fun glitch on this one
when you get the eon ticket at route 127 from the scientist (you reach him using dive)
if you try to use the eon ticket you will switch places with the scientist and make a clone of yourself

Erm So regarding the 1.42+ patches.. I tried to enter Hanada city but it’s completely blocked off by trees and cliffs and I do not see another way past all of it. Cannot enter through the Genji that blocks the exit of Yami cave either. Am I missing a patch or am I not observing something… I don’t want to lose my save file either..

To access Hanada City, you need Surf.
To get past Genji, get the Pokeflute from Fuji.
To get to Fuji, you need to head to Java.
To get to Java, look at the FAQ subject.

I beat the Java League, caught Layla and beat the guy who’s supposed to have the Old Sea Map but I never actually received the map from him and when I rebattle him he still doesnt give it to me so I’m stuck with Aichi telling me what the Silph Scope does… Anyone know how to fix this?

Nothing’s wrong. Just keep on going with the main quest until you get the Old Sea Map. (The volcano, rare stones, etc.)
Or talk to everybody. And if that doesn’t work, refer to statement #1.

When i enter 1 of the houses in java region, there is an entrance to a cave and when i exit the cave at the other end, i entered a room with a book on the table. When i read the book, it shows me a scene of suwako in it. When i went to gensokyo by yukari’s gap and used dive to get to the area where suwako is in the book, shes not there…. what should i do?

If I remember well, Aichi is the Java region. For route 123, you can only travel from East to West on this one, so you need to reach it by route 122, where there’s a tower.

Aichiya, I would absolutely love if this was completed. The lack of physical/special damage separation makes several touhoumon feel really lackluster, if not useless at some points. Please continue the project, at least for the damage separation as shown in your video here, where you were working on it.
If you could add Touhou characters from 13/13.5/14 also, that’d be the coolest thing.

I don’t think it would be that simple for Aichiya to add the latest characters. He doesn’t make the sprites, nor is finding any to use easy. If Aichiya adds them and uses someone else’s sprites (because the original sprite artist has not made any to my knowledge), he could get in trouble for stealing.
Plus, there may be a limit to the amount of Boneka you can add on a rom that’ll be registered on the dex, so adding all those extra characters might result in the loss of the forms and/or etc. of other Boneka.
As for the physical/special split, it’s probably going to be a long time before that happens since Aichiya hasn’t updated in quite awhile.
If you want to play a rom hack with the physical/special split, I recommend playing Pokemon Altair, Sirius, and Vega. Vega has a translation patch (not including the story), but most of it and the other two are purely in Japanese (but they’re amazing~).

Nah, it’s not that hard. You just need to learn how to spam the shit out of items and TMs in the late game. If you don’t know the doll’s attacks, types, strengths and weaknesses, you’ll eventually know most of them by heart.

Same happened to me when I played it on My Boy! (Android) but some time ago I managed to fix that, I think the header patch is what you need (yes, because when I applied that patch to the WL ROM (Emerald) it worked).
Indeed I’m a bit late to answer but I think it might help others with the same problem. Just apply the included header patch to your World Link ROM and everything should work, at least it fixed the white screen error.

Every time that you beat the Java League, many Java trainer flags get reset, and… the flag of the guy who gives the Zero Coupon gets reset aswell.
Meaning: every time that you beat the Java League, you can get a new Zero Coupon from the guy who gives one. Aichi doesn’t give other Zeros that way though.
