Touhoumon: Another World Remix
Hello everyone,
A few days ago, while take a break from searching for materials of my paper… I find something about Touhou Puppet Play…
Pretty much the Pokemon Hacking developed a lot, especially for GBA ROM…
Currently Touhoumon Another World is being modified by machomuu…
The modification aims to fix the bugs and glitches and remedy of stupid things that I made such as level curve, grammar nazi, etc…

What is Another World Remix?
Another World Remix is a hack of a hack. This hack aims to cure some of the hiccups that came with Another World, most of which were not creative choices, such as spelling errors and the like. This hack also strives to make the game more balanced without disrupting the states of the Touhoumon (or Boneka, as they are called) themselves. It will no doubt be easier than Another World is, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is going to be easy. This hack is meant to make the frustration from a loss one of understanding rather than something that is completely out of the player’s hands, but it will still, in many cases, try be unforgiving.
At its base, Another World Remix hopes to be a collection of fixes and changes that will make playing Another World a smoother and more enjoyable experience. What these changes include are fixed typos, justifiable text changes, trainer loadout and level changes, wild Boneka dispersion, and the like. At its base, its target is to reduce grinding (which is largely a problem in the early game) and make the game fairer and more intuitive.
Features
I considered not adding a features section but this does help to keep me in line and keep track of where I am and what I want to do, so here’s just that. Note that this doesn’t include things such as rebalancing, dialog fixes, and stuff like that since that’s explained above and in the Changelog (which is currently being updated as I make progress), but instead refers to other changes the hack intends to make.
New Features and Changes
– Cut does not need to be taught to a Boneka to be used. As long as you have the HM, you can use it to cut down trees.
– Physical/Special Move Split
– Typos zapped and broken dialog rewritten (In-Progress)
– The opening cutscene is now skippable
– XY-Styled Capture Experience
Intended Features and Changes
– Smooth out the transition between Gensokyo and Kanto
– Translate all of the Japanese
– Rewrite/Proof Dex Entries
– Insert updated 1.8 trainer sprites
– Remove Zero Forms

Me I will not like it. Removed Zero forms I was shocked… He don’t Balanced the difficulty, he killed it 😮 for me AW is Difficulty and Music and i didn’t understand the modification of Destroy…

What the heck?
It’s good that the Zero forms are no longer usable; they were nothing but unbalanced grinding.
I still think they should be obtainable, but better during post-game.
And just during post-game, trainers should use Z-Puppets, if anything.
I think Z-Puppets are good for competetive play, but should be highly limited to post-game and competetive play only.
Extensive grinding does NOT equal a balanced, hard game that is still challenging.
I’m very pleased to see that Another World gets updated after such a long time, and hope for AichiyaSanae to get back to his previous or maybe even new Touhoumon hacks of him.
(World Link had some issues as well, iirc.)
Aichi, please get back into Touhoumon hacking next year, as you implied to.
I will be looking forward what other romhacks may be done at a point.
Wasn’t Yukari’s island unfinished, when you made your FINAL version of the game, saying that you won’t finish Yukari’s island?
I wonder if machomuu will do so…
Anyways, I will keep an eye out on that and play the revised version of Another World at a point.

This game and World Link are an abominations. I don’t hate you Aichiya, but you made A LOT of mistakes making those two hacks. And for your “fans” – you all could always play an unfixed version… but i don’t see why. Broken 900 BST monsters almost from the start of the game, unbalanced level curve (no, “grind more” is not an answer), lol destroy, bugs, showing Aichiya’s waifu EVERYWHERE (I love Sanae too, but this is just too much), more bugs, untranslated japanese text everywhere, maps like trappy pass that are pointless… oh, and indonesian(?) words everywhere because why not?
Aichiya is an awesome person from what i see, but AW & WL are all but enjoyable. Still, thanks to those mediocore hacks TPP became more popular in anglish-speaking community and for this one reason i want to thank Aichiya for his work.

I’m without internet at home , so its kinda hard to be around , about Zero Bonéka, its good to know that will be removed, for me LW Bonéka is good enough, I wonder if will be there any music update :3

Well, a fixed version makes sense, if what gets fixed benefits the game. So yes, playing the ”fixed” version IS recommended.
Because, everything Drewko just pointed out is getting fixed – why would one NOT play something that actually becomes ”an enjoyable experience”?
Now that’s not to say that Drewko is wrong; the points he/she pointed out make sense, and are indeed bad.
But if the bad points are being taken care of, why not playing the ´”more enjoyable” version?
I never finished Touhoumon: Another World completely because of pretty much everything Drewko just pointed out about the vanilla version of AW; but there is no reason not to play a fixed version, especially since the changes in the fixed version are so potent.
But this are just my two cent here for people, that haven’t played Touhoumon: Another World before – what you make out of our impressions is subject to approval for everyone to decide for themselves.

Hey, could someone help me?
I’m currently trying to get Touhoumon another world remix, (the latest version with all the bug fixes, csakuya instead of csanae, japanese translation fix, ect.) and I was wondering if anyone could help me get it.
I’ve desperately tried but nothing has worked, when I went to patch the file it says “Patch file not supported, patching cancelled” or something along those lines.
If anyone could help me, I thank you so much! ;w;

I’m having problems about patching, apparently it uses a different game file instead of Pokemon Fire Red (U). I’m trying many roms, (Independant, Squirrel, 1.1) and none of them seem to be working with the patch, I would like to know what Fire Red file is being used for the ups patch.
